Clinical consultancy
Specialist consultancy for therapists and counsellors working with emetophobia: dedicated space to think through your cases and your approach.
What it is
Many therapists meet emetophobia only occasionally, so when it arrives on your caseload, specialist input can be hard to find. Clinical consultancy offers a dedicated space to bring your cases, your questions and your sticking points, through a pluralistic lens.
It sits alongside your existing supervision rather than replacing it: a place for the emetophobia-specific thinking that general supervision isn't always set up to hold.
I'm Caroline Cowley, a BACP registered psychotherapeutic counsellor and co-founder of The BEmet Project, and I'm passionate about helping people live life beyond emetophobia.
Who it's for
Therapists and counsellors who have emetophobic clients on their caseload, or who expect to, and would like specialist input alongside their usual supervision.
You're welcome whether emetophobia is familiar ground for you or completely new territory.
How it works
One-off sessions
A single session, typically an hour, to think through a particular case or question.
A short series
A few sessions together, for ongoing case discussion or deeper work on your approach.
Online or in person
Sessions are held remotely via Google Meet, with in-person consultancy available by arrangement.
What sessions can hold
- · Discussion of anonymised case material and formulation.
- · Approaches to working with emetophobia, including exposure work, safety behaviours and avoidance cycles.
- · Questions about the presentation itself, if emetophobia is newer territory for you.
Consultancy, not supervision
This is consultancy rather than formal supervision. I don't hold supervisory responsibility for your practice, and you remain responsible for your own case management and supervision in the usual way.
Please anonymise case material as far as possible. Everything discussed is treated as strictly confidential, in line with my obligations as a BACP registered counsellor and with the requirements of your own professional body.
When you book, we'll agree a written contract before we begin, covering these boundaries and confidentiality.
